Dr. Beth’s Compassionate Parenting

Bridging the Parenting Communication Gap

Double Dog Dare Challenge

What is a Double Dog Dare?

It IS daring someone to shine and be their greatness.
It’s not daring someone to hurt themselves or hurt another person.
It IS really looking at someone and seeing what might bring them more joy.
It’s not making fun of someone and laughing at their expense.
It IS finding someone hiding out with their gifts and talents and daring them to fly.
It’s not about getting someone to do something for you.
It IS about being the wings beneath someone you love and championing them to take flight.
It’s not about “compare and despair.”
It IS making this world a better place by becoming a leader that lifts others.
It’s not about needing people to need you, lift you or become dependent on you.
It IS about giving up being the super hero of someone else’s life and letting others be their own best leader and super star in their own right.

Let’s Let the Next Generation Shine – I double Dog Dare you!!! : )

How do I play?

I’m gifting at least 12 hours complimentary of live Zoom Parent Coaching and Educational Consulting time for all who want support, education, infotainment, and some playful cheer during these sometimes-challenging stay-at-home-with-your-family periods.
Every week day I’ll host a complimentary live zoom call for anyone who has a question, challenge, or needs some support with Teens or Parents of Teens during this crisis. Some of the calls and topics:
  • Power Parenting – Parents and teens in challenging relational interactions
  • LGBTQ parents and teens, first responders for parents and teens like health care professionals and educators, (doctors, nurses, dentists, etc.)
  • Family-owned businesses with family drama interactions
  • Family-owned business owners/parents and employees/teens break down and rebellion
  • Politicians and community workers transforming teen challenges
  • Parents and Toddler Teens Music Webinar utilizing “Dr. Beth Songs Parents Want Their Children to Hear” (ages 3 and up) AND “Dr. Beth Songs Children Want Their Parents to Hear” (ages zero to three).
I Double dog dare you to also donate at least 12 hours to Teens, Parents of Teens, and anyone dealing with Defiant, Teen, Rebellious, Out of the Boomer’s logical box thinking. What if we let the next generation LEAD their way? How do we invite, inspire, make space?
My Double Dog Dare is to invite others to play with the Double Dog Dare energy by challenging other’s to SHINE brighter than every blub on their generational tree.

Parents – Double Dog Dare your teens on something you know or think you know would be a stretch to enhance their lives and then drop the mic and have absolutely no dog in their fight. It’s their life now. Let them make their choices and live their creations. Go live yours (mirror/mirror hint). Whatever you told or want to tell your kid, see if it applies to you also.

Teens – Don’t just do things your parents say. Double Dog Dare them to shine and then keep nagging them until they show up and shine. Get creative and do it from love! Hint: what you want them to do might be your aspiration as well (just saying).

Friends – Double Dog Dare your friends to do what you know they would be fabulous doing, what you know they would love to do if they had only a little encouragement from someone who believes in them. Be willing to let them give you one back as a trade. Love them that much!

Mentors and Coaches – Double Dog Dare your clients to be better than you, to let you go as fast as possible and encourage them to start coaching or mentoring another leader. Dare them to be a leader of leaders, not just a follower.

Husbands – Double Dog Dare your partner to live their dreams. Ask them how you can help them with this. If you can, give them what they ask for, then Double Dog Dare them to jump. If you can’t give them what they want right away, then I Double Dog Dare both of you to create it so you can both WIN. Tell them you will no longer be their excuse for not living their lives fully.

Wives – Double Dog Dare your partner to receive as much love as they can possibly stand. Ask them where they would like to receive more love. From you, from their kids, from their friends, from their jobs? Then give it to them, if possible, or help them create a plan and Double Dog Dare them to begin and keep going!

Men – Double Dog Dare women to do it their way, to be their feminine selves, to lead themselves the way they are waiting for men to lead. Double Dog Dare women to stop blaming men and to become the leader they have been waiting for.

Women – Double Dog Dare men to trust love over work. Double Dog Dare men to choose close relationships with their partners, children and friends, rather than being right about ANYTHING. Seniors – Double Dog Dare people younger than you to do/be/experience the impossible. Help them find and create it with them!

Children – Double Dog Dare your parents and adults to take on their life’s purpose. Double Dog Dare seniors to share their wisdom, celebrate their lives and feel at peace.

How do I “Let the Next Generation Shine”?

30 Days of a Double Dog Dare YOU Challenge!

A Double Dog Dare Challenge is to lift up someone you love or care about. If you know someone has a gift to improve their life, others’ lives, their community or the world, then give them a Double Dog Dare. Stand behind them. Inspire them to be their gift, be their greatest, grandest version of themselves today! Order your Double Dog Dare T-Shirt today and support the next generation to SHINE!
I Double Dog Dare you to take on the 30 Day Challenge! You can either ask for and take on 30 dares in 30 days, or you can give others 30 dares in 30 days. Or for those willing to play full out, give a dare AND ask for a dare for 30 days. Post it on Facebook and let’s make a loving, kind, positive, inspirational, uplifting, transformational difference in at least 30 lives. Ready, set, go!
So you know, I’ll be posting my Double Dog Dares on Facebook. If anyone wants a jump-start I’m ready and willing. It has to be something you really feel will make me a better person and make the world a better place and that you really feel is doable. Embrace your inner teen for a positive outcome. I Double Dog Dare you!
And know if you play, you will probably get a Double Dog Dare in return. If your inner three- year-old does not feel safe to play out the dare, or your inner seven-year-old thinks you will look stupid or unsafe, you always have permission to say NO – guilt free until you feel safe and ready to shine! Part of our job in giving someone a Double Dog Dare is to help them feel safe and secure to be their most awesome self. Set people up to WIN! Set people up to tell the truth! Set people up to feel safe and look FABULOUS! Give others an invitation and inspiration to SHINE!
